The Netherlands is a small country but great in the field of agriculture and horticulture. Worldwide, the Netherlands is the proud 2nd exporter of agricultural and horticultural products. Dutch flowers are sent all over the world. Hoza is proud to be a reliable partner in the typical Dutch horticulture sector for many years. Hoza supports logistics in the flower sector with the development and production of aluminum auction carts.
Previously, there were several flower auctions in the Netherlands. Due to mergers of all auctions, different auction carts were in circulation. The auction carts play a crucial role in transporting the plastic crates where the flowers are kept. Since each auction had its own system, the auction carts were not interchangeable. After merging into one auction, there was also a need for one standard auction cart that could be used at all locations. Hoza responded to this and, in close collaboration, modified and adapted all flower auction carts in the Netherlands so that the entire inventory in the Netherlands was 1-to-1 interchangeable. This extensive multi-year project led to the fact that old auction carts did not need to be destroyed. This circular solution was therefore good for the environment. Additionally, the direct costs were much lower than purchasing new materials, leading to a significant reduction in total costs.
Our auction carts are designed for long-lasting, intensive, and safe use. Multiple auction carts are linked together and moved across the floor by tractors. The carts are designed to stay exactly in the path of the tractor and do not collide with other traffic.
The flower carts are also equipped with a pin system that allows them to engage in intralogistics flooring systems. Additionally, the flower carts are equipped with RFID tags, allowing them to be traced everywhere.
Flower carts are mostly made of aluminum. This is because aluminum provides good protection against water and chemicals. At the end of the long lifecycle, the steel components and wheels are removed. Then, mono-material remains in the form of aluminum. This is disposed of and reused without melting, contributing to a sustainable and environmentally friendly end after a long life as a flower cart.
Hoza also makes custom carts for supporting companies in the flower sector, such as picking carts. Hoza is open to projects in the flower and plant sector. We also welcome the challenge in the fruit and vegetable sector to develop and produce the requested logistical means for you.
